The product is very good for what it is intended for: nomadic use, specifically using glasses for immersion compared to a screen.

Overall, the ASUS ROG XREAL R1 glasses deliver premium hardware and flexible options for AR/gaming experiences, with a good balance between comfort and technical requirements. For this reason, they have earned the AXE Advanced Design award.

These ASUS ROG XREAL R1s are truly incredible! Having a giant screen right in front of your eyes, with such high image quality, is just mind-blowing. What amazed me the most is how lightweight they are: they weigh only 91 grams, are very comfortable to wear, and the Bose audio is amazing, too. You can connect them to smartphones, PCs, and consoles, and when paired with the ROG Ally X, they become even more appealing—especially for gaming on the go.

NETHERLANDS 07/26/2026MoreThe Full HD micro-OLED displays reach up to 700 nits and can simulate a virtual screen of up to 171 inches. The 240 Hz refresh rate, combined with very low latency, makes the experience especially smooth and responsive in games. At just 90 g, the glasses remain comfortable even during longer sessions.

ITALY 08/28/2026MoreTo put it simply, the ROG XREAL R1 makes the most sense when used with something like the ROG Ally X. The handheld itself already offers a very capable base for gaming on the go, but its 7-inch display still has its limits, and that’s exactly where these glasses take the experience to another level. Instead of a small panel, you get a massive virtual screen that turns the Ally X into a much more comfortable and private gaming station, without having to carry a laptop or look for a monitor.

CZECH REPUBLIC 06/18/2026MoreWith further iterations and technological advancement, exactly this kind of device could replace smart glasses, virtual reality, and perhaps even monitors. In any case, it was amazing to have the opportunity to try out what is already possible with current technologies.
