雖然倍增器協助延展有效相位的數量，但也付出了處理延遲的代價。整合的架構可讓兩個功率級共同運作，為 CPU 提供更大的功率。功率級中的 MOSFET 產生最多熱量，因為它們負責轉換電壓並從 12V EPS 連接器傳送至 CPU。

早在 2005 年，ASUS 就成為第一家在 A8N32-SLI Deluxe 主機板實作相位倍增器的製造商。此款主機板的 VRM 克服了當時組件的功率處理能力，同時降低電壓漣波，因此而受到讚譽。這些優點使得相位倍增器獲得業界廣為採用，而且目前仍用於類似的用途。
