VR and AR headsets already exist on the market, but many of these are far too bulky for extended use, which is why AR glasses are becoming increasingly popular. ROG’s newest contender, the XREAL R1 Gaming Glasses, aims for the top spot within the niche market, offering immersive gaming experiences while still maintaining comfort and affordability.

The product is very good for what it is intended for: nomadic use, specifically using glasses for immersion compared to a screen.

(6)I display micro-OLED Full HD arrivano fino a 700 nit e simulano uno schermo virtuale fino a 171".

NETHERLANDS 07/26/2026Ulteriori informazioniTo put it simply, the ROG XREAL R1 makes the most sense when used with something like the ROG Ally X. The handheld itself already offers a very capable base for gaming on the go, but its 7-inch display still has its limits, and that’s exactly where these glasses take the experience to another level. Instead of a small panel, you get a massive virtual screen that turns the Ally X into a much more comfortable and private gaming station, without having to carry a laptop or look for a monitor.

CZECH REPUBLIC 06/18/2026Ulteriori informazioniWith further iterations and technological advancement, exactly this kind of device could replace smart glasses, virtual reality, and perhaps even monitors. In any case, it was amazing to have the opportunity to try out what is already possible with current technologies.

CZECH REPUBLIC 07/20/2026Ulteriori informazioniAs you can see, the ROG XREAL R1 are interesting and, in many ways, very capable glasses. I appreciate the high-quality Micro-OLED display at 120 Hz, the practical dimming feature, basic spatial tracking, and the easy connection to a laptop.
