While the motherboard has some great features, it isn't without its pitfalls. If you want to run three cards in SLI, you will need to think about the spacing, and you can only use U.2 or M.2, not both. Like most X99 motherboards, PCH and CPU IO is limited compared to Z170, but ASUS has done a decent job of prioritizing certain features over others. Overall, this motherboard is impressive, and I am glad ASUS has created a motherboard to fit almost everyone's aesthetic preferences.

It is a board dedicated for the players, so we've got here good sound quality and a number of technologies to facilitate digital life of gamers. There is also AURA lightning with 4-pin terminal strip for Aura RGB

Looks beautiful, it has extended BIOS and a lot of interesting technology has been used in it. It does not limit the performance of components or not cause high costs associated with power consumption. I also have to mention the very good integrated sound card.

ASUS ROG X99 Gaming Strix costs about 1500 zł. For this price we get a motherboard that was made phenomenal.

Performance-wise, the motherboard performs pretty much just as we had expected of an X99 motherboard, if not slightly better. On PCMarks 8's Creative test, the motherboard could easily have obtained more than 6,000 points, while in the home test, it scored very close to 5,000 points

Alas, as it is with all high-end motherboards, the RM1,488 retail price of this Strix X99 Gaming motherboard is still a major sticking point that would deter gamers from actually getting it. But, as we had said at the beginning of this review: if money is not an option for the building of your new high-end PC, then by all means, do consider this motherboard.

While all Intel X99 motherboards tend to be the same in terms of functions, this ASUS entry—LED, blings, and all—is trying to change that. The new Asus X99 series is here and the first to be tested is X99 Strix Gaming. It marks some interesting changes in the family, like it brings the Strix name for motherboards. But it also brought a weird feeling, as it is a ROG member, being known that Strix and ROG were in different product segments. On the other hand, X99 Strix features the new RGB lights that are fashionably present everywhere these days. It also has an armored PCI-E, yet I don’t understand why not all of them benefit from that treatment.
