Vapor Chamber
Vapor chambers spread heat across a larger area, allowing for more efficient heat transfer than conventional heatpipes. ROG Strix laptops feature a new vapor chamber design with multiple layers to more efficiently draw heat from heat-generating components, while the ROG Flow Z13 features a new vapor chamber made with lightweight stainless steel with more coverage of the mainboard.
Liquid Metal
Liquid metal is a high-performance thermal compound capable of reducing temperatures by up to 15°C compared to traditional solutions.
Tri-Fan Technology
A third auxiliary fan directs additional GPU heat toward the heatsinks for increased cooling performance.
Arc Flow Fans™
We've added small bends at the end of each of the 84 primary fan blades that reduce both power consumption and turbulence. The fans also feature a dual-impeller design, with a smaller set of 42 fan blades inside that allow more air to be sucked through with each rotation of the fan, similar to a jet turbine.

ACR technology
This year, we added two layers of Ambient Contrast Ratio film to displays on ROG Strix machines, which reduces reflections by 55% and provides up to 4.5x better contrast, ensuring the image stays punchy, vivid, and accurate. A second layer boosts viewing angle for a 180° ultra-clear view, providing an image that looks just as good off-center as it does straight on.
Mini LED Technology
Typical LCD panels use a small group of LED lights to project an image on-screen. But because those lights are always on, blacks don’t get as deep as they could if those LEDs were off. Mini LEDs are much more compact than typical LEDs, with diodes smaller than 0.2mm. Display engineers can pack these diodes in much more densely than on typical displays, allowing for multiple zones of Mini LEDs that can dim themselves independently of one another. This creates images with darker blacks and brighter highlights, for a truly stunning image.
ROG Nebula HDR Engine
The Nebula HDR engine is a purpose-built local dimming algorithm that produces stunning highlights with unparalleled depth. Trained on an instruction set of more than 150 videos and over 2000 still photos, the algorithm can dynamically adjust the HDR lighting needed to minimize blooming around individual dimming zones by 25%.
Leading OLED Panels With G-SYNC Support
Enjoy the ultra-fast response times and incredible contrast ratios that are only possible with OLED technology. The OLED panels on ROG Zephyrus machines boast up to 3K (2880x1800) resolution and 240Hz refresh rates to make all of your games look silky smooth. ROG was also the first manufacturer to offer G-SYNC support on a gaming laptop with an OLED panel, giving access to variable refresh rates and incredible motion clarity even if framerates momentarily dip. With 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, a delta E of less than 1, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, prepare to be immersed in HDR content so lifelike that the screen melts away.
