The ROG Tytan CG8580 Unboxed
The ROG Tytan CG8565 made its debut a year ago. Fast forward to 2012, and a new ROG Tytan with the codename CG8580 takes its bow. It retains the same menacing design elements of its earlier sibling ROG Tytan CG8565, but with new hardware upgrades. The ASUS Singapore team did a quick unboxing of the new ROG Tytan CG8580. Enjoy~ Firstly: The packaging sports some battle scars as it got “manhandled” by the over-enthusiastic courier on its journey from our Taiwan HQ. The good news is that the hardware inside is without damage, which what matters, so if your local postal service practices football in the warehouse it shouldn't affect your new gaming PC! A close up on that front cover: The brightly-lit ROG logo to pledge your allegiance. Red signifies the maximum overclock (naturally), while a blue backlight indicates a 'normal' overclock.
Plenty of ports for your peripheral needs:
Under the motherboard I/O is a Xonar DX and a GeForce GTX 680.
What's in the extra's box?
It's a bundled ROG gaming keyboard and mouse. The keyboard has MX-black's fitted.
You’ve seen the Tytan, now let’s check out the upgraded specs: The Core i7-3770K is overclocked to 4.2GHz out the box, but with two press' of the Speed button in the top corner of the case and it'll immediately overclock to 4.6GHz! You can also use ASUS' GPU Tweak software with the GTX 680 for overclocking on the graphics card too. Let us know your thoughts on the new Tytan, in the forums.
