ASUS Announces MG279Q - 27
You were given a sneak preview of the MG279Q gaming monitor at CES 2015. Now our new 27" WQHD (2560X1440) gaming monitor has beefed up since then! Here is what you have been waiting for; 144Hz, 178〫 wide-viewing angle IPS technology, and AMD FreeSync so you can say goodbye to tearing and say hello to silky-smooth gaming. ASUS-exclusive features include Ultra-Low Blue Light Filter to reduce blue light emissions by up to 70% for eye-protection, Flicker-Free Technology offer comfortable viewing, GamePlus hotkey with crosshair overlay and timer functions, and GameVisual Technology offers six preset display modes tailored for different game genres. All these technologies come together to give you the ultimate gaming experience.
ASUS MG279Q boasts 77% more on-screen space than full-HD (1920X1080), 109PPI (pixels per inch), and 100% sRGB color gamut so you can experience detailed and vibrant images, while having plenty of desktop space to work with. For many builders and gamers, a display with native WQHD resolution is their weapon of choice, since most systems are best-suited to this resolution at this point in time (highest settings in glorious 4K resolution on the other hand can be too much for most systems).
The slim profile and narrow bezels make this a great choice for multi-display setups. The height-adjustable display tilts and swivels to your liking and can be detached easily using the quick-release latch and VESA wall-mounted to create more space on your desk. You can also make use of the cable-management design to make your gaming desk clutter-free.
For connectivity, there is a DisplayPort 1.2 port, a Mini DisplayPort 1.2 port, two HDMI/MHL ports, and two USB 3.0 ports.
To enjoy 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Technology which eliminates screen tearing and motion blur for ultra-smooth gaming, you will need compatible video cards such as MATRIX-R9290X-4GD5, R9290X-DC2-4GD5 and STRIX-R9285-DC2OC-2GD5.
