CES 2016: ROG Swift PG348Q & Mysterious New ROG 24

Where's the ROG Swift PG348Q you say? Here we've got the inside scoop on some final specs, so you know it must be close! The first concept was unveiled at Computex in June 2015, since that time improvements and adjustments were made. Apart from the award-winning design which included a new curved screen and LED ROG logo projection on the base, let's see what else is on offer!

In case you are not up to date, the PG348Q is set to be the new flagship ROG Swift display with a 34" ultra-wide curved IPS panel! It has maximum resolution of 3440X1440 (QHD) so the 21:9 aspect ratio makes whatever you're looking at wrap around you, finally you can watch those movies in this ratio without wasting any of your onscreen space! And increase your horizontal Field of View (FOV) to make full use of your peripheral vision in games. The thin bezels along with the curvature will a make surround setup more irresistible than ever!

Talking about games, PG348Q features a 100Hz refresh rate and Nvidia G-SYNC technology so games are not only extremely detailed (109PPI - can't really compare to phones because you wouldn't put your face right in front of this - it's just humongous!), but extremely smooth as well.  For productivity, this provides 35% more onscreen space compared to a WQHD (2560X1440) display. Many would agree that a WQHD display is the sweet spot right now considering how much grunt you need to drive the display comfortably for everything. Well, if you have more power than most, you can put it to good use here!

To enrich your gaming experience, there are GameVisual and GamePlus technologies to get personalized visuals and in-game overlays, as well as a Turbo Key to switch the refresh rates (between 60Hz and 100Hz) on the fly!

The IPS panel gives you wide viewing angles with minimal distortion and color shift. The images will be vibrant and true-to-life thanks to a 100% sRGB color gamut, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 10bit-color for 1.07 billion distinct hues. The Ultra-Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies built-in reduce eyestrain during gaming marathons and are TÜV Rheinland Certified.

For connectivity, you have the option of using DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI, there are also four USB 3.0 ports and an earphone jack (high-powered speaker also built-in).

 A New ROG Swift 24-Incher?
