The new ROG Strix GL10CS focuses on the fundamentals to enable exhilarating gaming experiences at affordable prices. Intelligently configured with 8th Generation Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics, it provides a versatile platform for more than just gaming.
A new face in the Strix family
Despite boasting full-sized desktop horsepower, the Strix GL10CS squeezes into a compact 27-liter case that occupies less space at your battlestation. Clean lines put a softer edge on its tough foundation. The flowing design is modeled after futuristic armor and reflects our obsession with speed.
Don’t let the sleek exterior fool you; we put the system through rigorous tests to validate its strength and durability. Stamped patterns in the side panels add rigidity, helping the Strix GL10CS survive drop and vibration tests that simulate the rough handling it may endure while traveling to a local LAN party or esports tournament. Extreme heat, cold, and humidity tests prepare the machine for a wide range of environments, and power tests ensure it can survive the voltage and frequency fluctuations that can occur on unreliable power grids.
Powerful hardware enables smooth gameplay
Venting in the left side panel improves airflow for the hardware inside. The CPU, GPU, and motherboard are housed in the main chamber, while storage bays sit below in a separate cooling zone that also includes the power supply.
The ROG Strix GL10CS is available with up to an Intel Core i7-8700 processor featuring six cores and 12 threads. You can effortlessly switch back and forth between productivity, content creation, and other applications, especially in configurations that maximize the system’s capacity for up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. The CPU’s multitasking muscle also extends to gaming, where you can simultaneously live-stream gameplay for an audience, record it for your highlight reel, and run separate voice communication for teammates.
NVIDIA GeForce 10-series GPUs supply the pixel-pushing power. The Strix GL10CS is available with up to a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB that offers great performance in popular titles. This GPU is ideal for playing at Full HD resolution, where it’s capable of pushing triple-digit frame rates in favorites like Fortnite and Overwatch. You can also enjoy smooth gameplay in AAA titles and even connect a VR headset to plunge into virtual reality.
Super-fast storage and gigabit-class WiFi
Storage options include M.2-based NVMe SSDs up to 512GB, so there’s loads of room for the games and applications you want to load at warp speed. For larger game libraries, the GL10CS is also available with 1TB of 7,200-RPM mechanical storage. The hard drive can be turbocharged with Intel Optane Memory, which caches frequently accessed data to reduce load times and improve responsiveness.
Gigabit-class networking manifests in two flavors. The Ethernet connection at the back delivers a low-latency wired connection for serious multiplayer gaming, while the latest Intel 802.11ac Wave 2 WiFi can achieve even higher throughput over a convenient wireless link. The optional WiFi card supports 2x2 MU-MIMO and is capable of reaching greater than gigabit speeds when paired with a compatible router like the ROG Rapture GT-AC5300.
Personalize your lighting and gaming profiles
Customizable Aura Sync lighting cuts across the front of the chassis with a diffused RGB glow. The understated illumination lets your personality shine through, and it only takes a few clicks to synchronize colors and effects with other Aura Sync peripherals like the ROG Strix Flare keyboard, Gladius II mouse, and Strix Fusion headset.
Coordinating cohesive system lighting is easy with our new Armoury Crate software, which consolidates Aura Sync, system control, and other functions in a single utility. This powerful tool includes multiple profiles that strike different balances between performance and noise. It also includes four game profiles that can automatically apply your preferred system settings when launching your favorite titles.
DTS Headphone:X adds separate acoustic profiles for headphones. It has presets optimized to produce better sound with a collection of off-the-shelf headsets and even conventional earbuds. You can also tweak the stereo environment or substitute it for virtual surround sound modes tailored for gaming, sports, and general entertainment.
