We just had our first look at the ASUS GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST DirectCU II, and now it's time for the quick unboxing as a sample has arrived for closer inspection.

Overclocked edition with 2GB GDDR5, Super Alloy Power components, and GPU Tweak for easy card tuning. Quite a package for anyone looking to step up their gaming and multimedia with modern 28nm/DX11.1 GPU technology. Don't forget this version of the card is an overclock of an overclock: the stock GTX 650 Ti BOOST is an OC of the original GTX 650 Ti (which was an improved GTX 650...), and this ASUS card overclocks the new BOOST version, going to 1085MHz. Confused? Don't be, it's a fast GPU with a nice 192-bit memory bus, so you get very impressive performance.

There's a lot of BOOST on this box, that's for sure!

Factory-faster for your gaming and overclocking edification!

Superb ASUS packaging as always, so feel free to order this guy from your favorite online retailer without worrying about shipping mishaps.

Here's the card itself, and do note it's not a very long graphics card, something the image above may not reflect. At just over 10" it will easily fit in any mATX case with clearance to spare.

Durable Super Alloy Power capacitors and the DirectCU II shroud.

Wider view with the dual fans, which are significantly quieter than what you get with generic GTX 650's.

It's just cool from every side, isn't it?

And a look at the underside of the PCB.

Back I/O has all the connections you need, great for multi-monitor setups.

And we close with an overview of the top of the card, checking out the DirectCU II shroud, sturdy heatpipes, and single 6-pin connector. That last one is not bad at all for the performance you get here, meaning this BOOST-tastic card is a nice match for moderate builds with humbler PSUs in the 400W-500W range.

As part of an ongoing effort to widen the sweet spot graphics card range, the ASUS GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST DirectCU II is unarguably a great option, running lean and fast and clocking in at the affordable under-$200 price band.
