3GHz DDR3 Validated By Intel For Only ASUS Z87 Motherboards
Only the ROG Maximus VI Extreme and ASUS Z87 Deluxe are certified with an XMP to run 3,000MHz G.Skill DDR3 (F3-3000C12Q-16GTXDG). This has been validated by Intel itself on its latest QVL publication for use with the Core i7-4770K. For some of the fastest DIMM on the planet, as you'd expect though, they are not cheap and if you're splashing out remember that to achieve this performance will take some overclocking skill (please read our recent guide!) and a 'good' CPU! If you don't (yet) feel the need to opt for 3GHz memory, there are still many others options on the full Intel memory QVL list. ROG keeps its own memory QVL lists on the product pages under support --> downloads.
