The Asus Maximus VI Extreme is exactly that - Guru3D
Hilbert puts together a huge 21 page review covering everything about the board and new platform, eventually awarding it a Best Hardware Award He has a lot to say, but here's a quote to get you going: Okay let me just tell it like it is, the Maximus Extreme VI is pure sex for the modern slightly geeky man ;) This is quality at its best added with features and easy ways to overclock your processor and memory. Still, this ROG piece of hardware remains to be focused mainly at tweakers. I mean I've seen the competition includes more end-users savvy hip features like dedicated audio solutions, KillerNIC and so on. But man, the Maximus Extreme VI is haaaawt! But yes, the ROG Maximus VI Extreme will be a little more difficult to position as it is pushed so extremely far into the pro-overclockers range with the OC Panel and LN2 functions and so on. ASUS Maximus VI Extreme Motherboard Review - Overclockers.com
Overclockers naturally get down into the BIOS, software and chip-level of dissection of the Extreme, so if you want to know the real ins-and-out read this. Overclockers gives it an Approved award. That following has good reason to gravitate toward the Maximus VI Extreme. It includes the most useful, coolest accessory of any board I’ve reviewed. It improves on the past generation both in UEFI additions and software. It overclocks as far as your CPU -and memory- will let you go. Read the full Overclockers.com review here
Asus Maximus VI Extreme Review - bit-tech
The bit folks run the board through their benchmarks and give it an Extreme Ultra award. Because, well, it is. The Maximus VI Extreme's BIOS is your typical ROG affair with more options than you can shake a stick at. However, it's well laid out enough that you can find the basic options such as vcore, RAM voltage, and multiplier and base clock ratios easy enough without trawling through pages of settings. It's the first Z87 motherboard we've seen that allows you to sync the multipliers as well, with other boards often requiring you to set them each individually. It's full of little tweaks like this that just make it easier to work with. Read the full bit-tech review here
ASUS ROG Maximus VI Extreme Motherboard Review - PC Perspective
The PC Per crew put the Extreme through a full breakdown and tests. Here's a teaser: After seeing this board at an ASUS Z87 preview event earlier in the year, I could not wait to get it on the test bench. I was not disappointed to say the least. The board screams performance on initial un-boxing and keeps you busy with its plethora of add-ons. The OC Panel was one among many of the high points for me with this board. The interface is sleek and stylish, matching the looks of the Maximus VI Extreme to a tee. The board itself was designed and laid out almost perfected with a few minor questionable details. Its stock performance was also nothing short of stellar. Read the full PC Perspective review here
ASUS Maximus VI Extreme Preview - OCaholic
Their review should be inbound soon, but in the meantime Ocaholic have put together this full breakdown preview of the board itself. Basically the ASUS Maximus VI Extreme's Layout has been very well thought. Once more practical are the angled SATA connectors as well as the power- and reset-buttons. There is also a debug display which is very useful in case you should have issues with a component in your system or the board itself. Even the placement of the PCI-Express x16 is very well chosen.
