In 2015 you might have participated to the ROG OC Showdown 2015 and the Beta Challenge based on the RealBench HWBOT Edition benchmark. A lot of nice prizes were up for grabs for both winners and lucky participants.
Till the end of 2016, both competitions are returning with exclusive prizes including the next-generation of ROG motherboards, so you will be among the first to receive the latest as they are released!
ROG OC Showdown 2016 - Formula Series
For the 2016 edition of ROG OC Showdown - Formula Series, the competition will be separated into two rounds with one month duration for each.
OpenBenchtable, Seasonic, Thermal Grizzly and der8auer are joining us as partners of the competition.

The competition invites members from the Rookie, Novice and Enthusiast Leagues at HWBOT to partipate using any ASUS motherboards on air/liquid-cooled rigs above 30°C in temperature.
Round 1 to kick off on August 26th
Overclockers will have to compete over three different stages (below) in order to accumulate the maximum points for the overall ranking.
Prizes, including ROG Strix X99 Gaming, ROG Maximus VIII Impact, Seasonic power supplies and Thermal Grizzly thermal paste will be awarded to the top three overclockers in the Round 1 ranking. Every participant will automaticaly be eligible for one of the three lucky draw prizes up for grabs.
Exclusive overall ranking prizes
The overall ranking will be calculated based on the sum of points from Round 1 and Round 2. The top three competitors will be rewarded with the next-generation ROG motherboard as well as a portable Open Benchtable (pictured below - left) and the latest Delid-Die-Mate tool to help you reach the maximum performance from your CPU.

RealBench Challenge 2016
RealBench Challenge is based on the new RealBench HWBOT Edition benchmark. The competition will consist of 4 different challenges over a period of 11 days each.
All leagues from HWBOT can participate, however it will be limited to air and water cooled rigs.
Similar to ROG OC Showdown - Formula Series, at the end of the four RealBench Challenges, the top three competitors in the overall ranking can win the exclusive next-generation ROG motherboard.
Challenge I starts on September 2nd

ASUS ROG Announces 2016 OC Showdown and RealBench Challenge

Taipei, Taiwan (24th August, 2016) — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced OC Showdown Formula Series 2016 and RealBench Challenge 2016, two distinct online overclocking competitions open to enthusiast overclockers from around the world — and offering them the chance to win both community acclaim and exclusive prizes, including a next-generation ROG motherboard. OC Showdown Formula Series 2016 Round 1 opens for entries today, and runs until 26th September 2016. Round 2 is scheduled to begin on 28th October, running to 28th November, 2016. RealBench Challenge 2016 is a separate competition using a custom benchmarking tool, and comprises four distinct challenges that start on 2nd September 2016 and continue through to 5th December 2016.

ROG OC Showdown Formula Series: Round 1 launches today and runs until 26th September 2016
In co-operation with HWBOT and partners der8auer, Open Benchtable, Seasonic®, Thermal Grizzly, OC Showdown Round 1 launches today and runs until 26th September 2016. Round 2 will follow, commencing on 28th October 2016 and continuing until 28th November 28th.
OC Showdown Formula Series invites overclockers from HWBOT’s Rookie, Novice and Enthusiast leagues to compete using any ASUS- or ASUS ROG-branded motherboard, and to cool using only stock air- or water-based equipment — and to generate core temperatures in excess of 30°C. No extreme-cooling equipment or techniques are permitted in the Formula Series competition rounds, and overclockers of all abilities are invited to enter. Round 1 contestants must compete over three stages, measuring their overclocking achievements with XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility), GPUPI for CPU - 1B, and HWBOT x265.
Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of each OC Showdown Round. Available Round 1 prizes include Strix X99 and ROG Maximus VIII Impact motherboards, premium Seasonic power supplies and high-performance Kryonaut thermal paste from Thermal Grizzly.
At the conclusion of OC Showdown 2016 itself, points from both Rounds 1 and 2 will be tallied to determine an overall winner. Contestants can also earn bonus points by carrying out mystery activities, to be revealed on the competition page. The overall winner will be awarded a next-generation ROG motherboard, an Open Benchtable portable benchmarking kit, a Delid-Die-Mate tool for easy reapplication of thermal-interface material to the processor and an exclusive ROG OC Showdown - Formula Series 2016 trophy. The second- and third-placed runners-up will also receive a next-generation ROG motherboard, Open Benchtable kit and a Delid-Die-Mate tool.
Prize draws running for the duration of the competition will see contestants drawn at random to win ROG T-shirts, exclusive ROG 10th-anniversary goodies and tubes of Thermal Grizzly thermal paste.
ROG RealBench Challenge I launches 2nd September 2016 and runs for 11 days
RealBench Challenge is an all-new overclocking competition wholly sponsored by the Republic of Gamers. Organize into four distinct challenges that run until 5th December 2016, Challenge I begins on 2nd September 2016 and invites contestants from around the world to demonstrate their overclocking skills using the custom RealBench HWBOT Edition benchmark.
RealBench Challenge invites any overclocker using an ASUS- or ASUS ROG-branded motherboard to enter using only stock air- or water-based cooling equipment. Core temperatures must be a minimum of 30°C, and no extreme-cooling equipment or techniques will be allowed.
The four RealBench Challenge 2016 stages will each run for 11 days each. The full schedule is as follows:
- Challenge I runs from 2nd September to 12th September, 2016
- Challenge II runs from 30th September to 10th October, 2016
- Challenge III runs from 28th October to 7th November, 2016
- Challenge IV runs from 25th November to December 5th, 2016
Prizes will be awarded at the end of each Challenge, and at the conclusion of the RealBench Challenge 2016 competition three entrants with the most points will each win a next-generation ROG motherboard. The overall winner will also walk away with the inaugural RealBench Challenge trophy.
