ASUS Hyper Express SATA Express Enclosure At Computex 2014
The ASUS Hyper Express is a flexible SSD-to-SATA Express enclosure that allows users to quickly and easily install their choice of M.2 SATA or mSATA based SSDs, and have them automatically be loaded in RAID 0 to boost performance up to SATA Express 10Gbps levels.
The enclosure fits into a 3.5 inch bay within the PC system and comes provided with a SATA Express cable. ASUS has worked closely with ASMedia to bring a first SATA Express solution to market (based on the 1062R chipset) with best enable compatibility and performance.
Below we show you how M.2 and mSATA fit one above the other in parallel, and screw down according to the arrows. Two SSD of the same must be used: mSATA cannot be mixed with M.2, and only one socket type can be used at a time.

The second demo on show at Computex 2014 was an M.2 PCI-e 2x to SATA Express adapter, using an upcoming Marvell 88SS1083 controller to translate M.2 PCIe data into SATA Express (as despite the fact SATA Express and M.2 PCIe are both based on PCI Express for data transfer, they are not directly inter-compatible standards). Again, ASUS has worked closely with Marvell to qualify performance and compatibility of its upcoming chipset on ASUS 9 series motherboards with SATA Express.
