ASUS Motherboard With SATA Express Teased At Tweaktown
There has been a lot talk regarding the upcoming SATA Express interface, and Tweaktown is first on the net with a look at ASUS Z87 SATA Express motherboard - shooting a few photos of the new interface on the board itself. Check the TT site for more pics.
The SATA Express interface is a combination of two connectors; one for SATA Express SSDs based on PCI-Express and another for standard SATA alone. The SATA Express interface can transmit both PCI-Express and SATA signal and will feature a new cable for SATA Express drives.
Backward compatible with the SATA interface, SATA Express it will offer 10Gb/s transfer speeds, which are certainly a great boost compared to current interface of 6Gb/s.
