ROG & ASUS COMBINE FOR 15 IF DESIGN AWARDS IN 2017!

If there's an iF design award, you know a panel of 58 indepenedent experts from around the world has given the product a thumbs-up. Each year, Germany’s oldest independent design organization, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the iF DESIGN AWARD. The competition was fierce this year with over 5,500 entries from 59 countries, all hungry for that stamp of approval.

The Republic of Gamers and ASUS combined for a total of 15 iF Design Awards in 2017. Three of the latest ROG innovations received the prestigious award, and here they are!

ROG G31 Edition 10

Already the recipient of the COMPUTEX d&i award 2016, the G31 celebrates the 10th year of ROG by cramming into a compact chassis two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080s in SLI and then allowing simple overclocking with a single click. Rest assurred you'll have more than enough power for years to come. But devastating power alone doesn't win iF Design Awards; the G31's performance along with its delectable design featuring personalized RGB lighting effects, a new power supply you would love to show your friends (and ask if they know what it is), and quality sound from the dedicated ESS audio DAC validated the system as a contender and eventual winner in the competition.

ROG GR8 II

The original GR8 possessed an award-winning design, and the new GR8 II has proven to be a worthy successor, as it also earned a prestigious design award of its own. The machine is powered by the latest 7th Gen. Intel Core i7 or i5 desktop processors paired with up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. Making it VR-ready is a customized desktop GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card that's around 10% faster than the previous-generation GTX 970. The GR8 II is designed with VR gaming in mind; it's been tested extensively with the Oculus Rift and has two HDMI ports that let you to easily connect a monitor and VR headset at the same time. Despite the super-compact 4-liter chassis, you can still connect up to three displays for surround gaming using the two HDMI ports and DisplayPort output.

ROG XG Station 2

It's not often you come across a product and can't be certain of what you're looking at upon first glance. Sometimes you think OMG in the not-so-good way, perhaps because it's just wacky or hideous. Other times the product piques your interest, and you have the insatiable urge to find out more - much like a kid discovering chocolate for the first time. The jurors evidently liked what they learned about the ROG XG Station 2, because they bestowed it an iF Design Award.

Even though the power and compactness of laptops have progressed by leaps and bounds over the years, we as gamers always crave moar power as developers continually ramp up the graphical fidelity of the latest games. Now your fantasy of carrying an ultra-portable laptop (such as the ASUS Transformer 3 Pro T303UA) when out and about and using it as a gaming powerhouse when you get home has become a reality. The new ROG XG Station 2 brings full desktop gaming performance to compatible laptops, allowing you to augment your notebook's graphics - and upgrade the GPU inside the XG Station 2 - whenever you like.
