The Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3080 OC is a great alternative to the Nvidia’s Founder Edition card. Its stock performance is already better than the Nvidia Founder’s Edition, and while the OC FPS isn’t really noticeable, it’s nice to have the option to Overclock.

aesthetics really worked on this card, with a case provided with metallic accents and full of lighting. Without a doubt one of the most striking that Asus has made, and it really gives this Asus ROG a unique personality.

Under load, the card offers very quiet operation, which is helped by a massive heatsink, which takes up exactly three slots in the computer. Also positive is the fact that the fans run at maximum load at only some 1400 RPM. Other positives include additional quad pins for cabinet fans and two switchable BIOSes. The card will please mainly the clockers, as it is said to be prepared for extreme overclocking with liquid nitrogen.

This card offers top operating characteristics, high performance and rich equipment. However, the cheaper TUF RTX 3080 is similar in terms of operating characteristics, even at a lower price, which is why we "only" give Strix a Silver Award.

ASUS and its RTX 3080 in the STRIX edition is a very powerful and well-made card. If the price was around 20 thousand and the availability was normal, then the only drawback is generally a very unpleasantly high consumption of the RTX 3080/3090 series and related things.
