ASUS Power User Meet 2015
For the 5th time, ASUS India organized a Power User Meet on October 27th in Mumbai, in their ASUS office. A new activity for overclockers has been introduced called ASUS India OC Showdown 2015. For the occasion, the top Indian overclockers, Shatul "Toolius" Durlabhji and Hazzan "Hazzan" Jaddid were there to teach other enthusiasts the joy of extreme overclocking.
From humble beginnings
ASUS started the trend of a power user gathering of this scale back in 2011 in India. In its fifth edition, top power users from all over India were flown in specifically for this occasion.
The meet kicked off with an update to ASUS’ latest offerings beyond motherboards and graphics cards. The main purpose of the presentation was to get everyone up to speed with the latest products and get a sneak peak at some upcoming products like VivoWatch and Chromebit. Each power user could ask questions and share their opinions on the products.
“What started off as a simple idea has now turned into a tradition here at ASUS. This time, I was quite pleased to see some very young faces in the crowd amongst our regular group of ASUS power users. Some who have never overclocked a CPU or put together a rig of their own but have the thirst to learn.” - Mr. Vinay Shetty – Country Head, Component Business, ASUS India

First ever ASUS India OC Showdown
On October 18th, ASUS India held their first OC Showdown with Overclocking legend Hazzan Jadid and Shatul “Toolius” Durlabhji. In the event, all the attendees were attended a special extreme overclocking introduction workshop held by Hazzan, Shatul and Trouffman from Overclocking TV. Trouffman started with how to safely use liquid nitrogen for extreme overclocking. Hazzan and Toolius shared some tips on how to overclock on the new Z170 platform, using the Maximus VIII Ranger.
Overclocking Competition
Overclockers also got the opportunity to compete for some prizes. ROG Maximus VIII Ranger motherboards and Intel i7-6700 processors were used for the competition.
The overclockers were given a simple set of rules, locked CPUs at 4Ghz and rest of the hardware like memory and OS were open for tweaking. Overclockers had to run three benchmarks, Intel XTU and Geekbench Single + Multicore runs. The winner decided on combining all three benchmark scores. After a very close finish, Rakesh Sharma and Gaurav Bharadwaj were crowned winners and took home the ASUS X99 Deluxe motherboard!

On the same day of ASUS India OC Showdown, Hazzan and Shatul showed their world class overclocking skills on the latest ROG Maximus VIII Extreme and Maximus VIII Gene. They were able to demonstrate a lot new things about LN2 overclocking new to beginners.
Hazzan and Shatul were able to clock the new Intel 6700K CPU to 6Ghz, XTU stable on the ASUS Maximus VIII Gene motherboard, which was a result good enough to clinch Global 5th place for the benchmark!
The entire session was a very informative and great fun for upcoming overclockers from India.
