Show you mean business: ASUS BRT-AC828 Dual-WAN Router
Show your friends you mean business in more ways than one. The only thing stopping an ASUS BRT-AC828 is probably a black out. For the type of people who would get a dual-WAN Wi-Fi router would most likely have a backup generator anyway, so the chances of losing connection in a middle of a game is so remote you might even have a better chance of being struck by lightning. Time means money in business, so using a business router such as a BRT-828 for gaming for some people isn't a bad idea knowing that you will not be without internet at home ever again.
In comparison, ASUS RT-AC5300 and RT-AC88U are designed with gamers in mind, having the fastest wireless connection, incredible performance for multiple PCs even over Wi-Fi, and are the first routers with a built-in gaming accelerator powered by the Gamers Private Network (GPN) from WTFast for the ultimate low-ping gaming experience. While BRT-AC828 is meant for a business environment, this is certainly no slouch when it comes to gaming, in fact it has a few killer features of its own.
With support for up to 250 simultaneous connections, you could host the biggest LAN party in the neighborhood without disrupting all the other devices in the house. The M.2 SSD (solid-state drive) slot allows you to have an ultra-fast built-in NAS (Network-Attached Storage), great for Steam backups in one central location while saving space and power.
AC5300 and AC88U both have Link Aggregation which allows two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports to be combined into a super-fast 2Gbit/s wired connection. Well AC828 aggregates two Gigabit WAN ports for a total of 2Gbps bandwidth, plus four Gigabit LAN ports enable up to two 2Gbps network links! The two WAN ports can also be configured as independent ports so one serves as the backup should the other fail. Faster internet or fail-safe internet, take your pick! There is also the option of connecting a 4G LTE dongle to the USB 3.0 port for use as a primary or secondary WAN. If you are paranoid about the possibility of enduring life without social media, gaming and video streams, you really need to get out more... or get a BRT-AC828.
Just like AC5300 and AC88U, BRT-AC828 also features ASUS AiProtection with exclusive Trend Micro technology. What you get is real-time network monitoring to detect malware, viruses and other intrusions for everything connected.
