EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X Compatible With The R9 290

EK Water Blocks have announced that the EK-FC R9-290X series water blocks are also compatible with reference design ASUS Radeon R9 290 graphics cards, in case you are looking to do some overclocking or simply wanted to change the reference cooler. As both the R9 290X and the R9 290 graphics cards use the same PCB design and even have the same reference cooler. The difference comes from the the GPU Stream Processor count and lower clock speed, so it does surprise that the EK-FC R9-290X series are compatible. It features a very high flow design and can be used with weaker water pumps and features 0.6mm wide microchannel structure that should further improve the heat transfer while not sacrificing the famous low hydraulic restriction design. Available in five different versions - depending on the material used for the top cover - the EK-FC R9-290X is a full-cover water block that directly cools the GPU, RAM as well as VRM (voltage regulation module) as water flows directly over these critical areas, allowing it to remain stable even under high overclocks. In case you already bought the R9 290 or simply can't wait for the ASUS DirectCU II version, EKWB EK-FC R9-290X might be just what you are looking for!
