Ocaholic Overclocking Competition - Smash and Trash 13

Nov 28, 2013 Written by:ROG Article

Ocaholic.ch is hosting its own overclocking competition, called Smash and Trash 13 this weekend, from the 30th November 2013 until 1st December 2013. During this time they aim to attack as many world records as possible, and will be joined by a few very well known overclockers from Switzerland, Germany and Austria, as well as a special guest from Latvia!

Since there are some of the best memory overclockers gathering at Smash and Trash 13 - including Hiwa Pouri, Matthias "Mat" Zronek, Semjons "TaPaKaH" Avdejevs, Roger "splmann" Tanner and Christian Ney - we can expect to see some great results in those areas. Other than memory benchmarks, they'll compete in SuperPi 32M and Aquamark.

On Saturday the guys participate in freestyle benching and they also prepare their setups for Sunday when the competition launches at 10:00 CET and finishes at 16:00. There will also be a livestream available - check the front page at ocaholic for a link this weekend.

When it comes to hardware the guys will be using the following components:

  • 5 x ASUS Maximus VI Impact
  • 5 x ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II OC
  • 5 x Intel Core i7-4770K
  • 5 x Corsair DDR3-2933C12 Hynix MFR
  • 5 x Seasonic X1250 Power Supply
  • 5 x Cooler Master Peripherals Bundle
The Maximus VI Impact is the best motherboard for memory overclocking (check the current DDR3 frequency world records!); therefore it's a logical decision that ocaholic will use it!

We're really curious to see what the five teams are going to achieve, and we certainly keep fingers crossed and look forward to some great scores!
