World Record DDR3 Frequency Achieved on the Maximus III Formula
Just when we thought that socket LGA1156 was a thing in the past, the awesome folks over at Ocaholic did the unthinkable by breaking the DDR3 memory frequency world record using the socket LGA1156 ASUS Maximus III Formula board and Kingston HyperX DDR3 memory modules, with clock speeds of 3095MHz @ CL6 and 3175MHz @ CL8! Roger Tanner aka "splmann" and Marc Voser aka "Besi", achieved two new world records with the world’s fastest dual channel memory kit, Kingston HyperX 2544MHz (Kingston part number: KHX2544C9D3T1FK2/2GX). They clocked their way to 3095MHz at CL6 and 3175MHz at CL8 timings. These were paired with a Core i7-860 CPU and of course liquid nitrogen was needed to cool down those insanely clocked speeds memory modules. It seems that the good old ASUS Maximus III Formula show the world that ROG motherboards are in a class of their own. So what do you guys think of this world record? If you own(ed) a Maximus III Formula let us know your experience and thoughts below or on the ROG Facebook page. [simpleviewer gallery_id="18"]
