Despite delivering heavyweight gaming performance, the ROG XG Mobile series are the lightest and most compact external GPUs in the world. It’s significantly smaller than competitors, at just 7% of the size of typical eGPUs built for desktop graphics cards. Weighing in at only 1.2kg, it’s portable enough to pack up and plug in just about everywhere. The integrated 330W adapter even lets you travel without a separate power brick.

Maximize performance with our exclusive interface. Its direct PCIe®connection to the CPU dedicates bandwidth just to the graphics processor. A separate USB 3.2 Gen 2 link adds 10Gb/s for the I/O hub and prevents peripheral traffic from impeding graphics performance. Gaming is super smooth, especially when playing on the Flow’s integrated display, and accelerated work like 3D rendering and multimedia editing is fast and fluid. The 41cm cable gives you the flexibility to position the eGPU freely.

Our custom design increases contact area with the heatsink by 54% compared to a typical heatpipe layout, enabling faster thermal transfer and opening up more space for airflow. 0.1mm ultra thin fins for the win

Thermal energy is dissipated by four heatsinks, each lined with ultrathin copper fins as slim as 0.1mm. These fins are half the size of typical solutions, whose higher density allows for more effective heat dissipation and lower air resistance. There are up to 252 heatsink fins totaling 44,230mm² of surface area.

Scenario Profiles

Scenario Profiles automatically change operating modes to optimize performance and acoustics for different games and apps. Turbo mode ramps up the fans and frequency to sustain maximum speed, Performance mode balances cooling and clocks to lower acoustics for gaming, and Silent mode runs even quieter for lighter work and entertainment. Switch modes seamlessly or on demand with a keyboard shortcut.

Liquid metal thermal compound

Liquid metal compound lowers CPU temperatures by up to 10°C* compared to standard thermal paste. The right amount must be carefully applied for the best results, so we commissioned custom equipment to automate the process with precision, designed a patented internal fence to contain the compound, and added a special step to protect surface-mounted components on the processor package.

Slimmer heatpipes

Flatter heatpipes help minimize height in the ultra-slim form factor, and offer more surface area to pull heat away from core components. They snake over the CPU and GPU to reduce temperatures and help improve long-term stability and reliability.

Arc Flow Fans™

Updated Arc Flow Fans™ feature curved blades specially shaped to maximize airflow with minimal noise. Our variable thickness design can get as thin as 0.1mm at the base of the fans before expanding toward the tip. The standard Asus test environment for battery life is as follows: Windows operating system, display module with 150 nits of brightness, lighting off, and other application settings.
Video Playback: Testing is done with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth off, Windows Power Plan set to Balanced, Taskbar Power Mode set to Battery Saver, system volume at 67%, and video at full screen, 1080p resolution
Web Browsing: Testing is done with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, Windows Power Plan set to Balanced, Taskbar Power Mode set to Better Battery, and using the Weblooper Top50 website in Google Chrome to play the video with a refresh time of 10 seconds.
Factors that affect battery life include laptop configuration, power settings, and the way it is used. Battery capacity fades with its cycle count and age.
Quick-charging times apply when using the proper ASUS/ROG adapter included alongside the select model and the system is powered off (via the "shut down" command). In compatible scenarios, batteries can be recharged to 50% within 30 minutes under the optimal temperature range of 20-45 degrees Celsius. Charging times may vary +/- 10% due to system tolerance.
