New GeForce RTX™ 40 SUPER series graphics cards boost performance from ROG and TUF Gaming
NVIDIA has pulled back the curtain on their refreshed 40 Series GPUs: the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. If you’re ready to upgrade to the latest and greatest in graphics performance, we’ve got a suite of new cards from ROG and TUF Gaming. In addition, we’ll also be offering ProArt, ASUS Dual, and Noctua Edition versions of certain GPUs, which you can read more about here.
Each of these new GPUs offer a boost in performance over their predecessor, with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER also increasing the VRAM to 16GB for high-resolution texture performance. In addition, the GeForce RTX 4070 now uses a 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector on the PCB, perfect for matching with the latest PSUs. And of course, all of these cards were built with our Auto-Extreme Technology, which automates the manufacturing process so that all soldering can be completed in a single pass, reducing thermal strain and environmental impact for a product that will stand the test of time. You can see all of our current 40 SUPER series cards available here, and read more about our gaming options below.
ROG Strix RTX 40 SUPER cards leads the pack with top-tier clock speeds and cooling
Our ROG Strix series of graphics cards stands ready with best-in-class performance, bold ROG styling, and top-tier cooling for your high-powered rig. Our 40 Series SUPER cards use the same class-leading build as their non-SUPER brethren, albeit with the addition of a 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector on the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER. Three Axial-tech fans keep the card cool when under load, while our 0dB mode kicks in to turn the fans off entirely when performing simpler tasks. The metal exoskeleton provides unparalleled rigidity, while our Dual BIOS switch allows you a simple choice between maximum performance and quieter operation. Exclusive to Strix, our FanConnect II headers allow you to control up to two case fans based on your GPU’s temperature, allowing you more fine-grained control over your build. And of course, plenty of Aura Sync-compatible RGB gives you room to customize the look of your card and synchronize its lighting with the rest of your system.
ROG Strix is offering these cards for the 40 SUPER series:
- ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER
- ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER OC Edition
- ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER White

TUF Gaming RTX 40 SUPER cards offers robust performance for gamers of all stripes
For a tried-and-true alternative, our TUF Gaming cards give you high-end bang for your buck. Not only do they offer the same metal build, triple-fan cooling, and large heatsinks of their Strix brethren, but you also get some of its extra features like the Dual BIOS switch that lets you customize your performance with the flick of a switch. While it doesn’t have as much RGB or the FanConnect II headers, and the OC Editions sport slightly lower clock speeds, TUF cards still provide excellent performance and long-lasting durability for high-end gaming builds.
You can find the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series of GPUs in these TUF Gaming cards:

Pair your new card with the perfect power supply
If it’s been a while since you upgraded your graphics card, you may also need a new PSU to go with it, with enough wattage to power your next-gen card (and the requisite power connectors). ASUS and ROG have a number of options to suit your build, no matter which of these new GPUs you choose.
If you’re going for the high-end GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, you’ll want an equally capable power supply like the ROG Thor 1000W Platinum II. With premium components and incredible efficiency, it’s one of the quietest power supplies in its class, offering all the power you need without extra noise. It also has an OLED display on the side to monitor power draw in real-time, along with Aura Sync support for a bit of extra RGB flair. If you’re looking for something a bit more affordable, we also suggest pairing the TUF Gaming 1000W Gold with the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER.
If instead you’re opting for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, check out the ROG Thor 850W Platinum II, which offers the same high-end components, excellent efficiency, and OLED display of its 1000W sibling mentioned above, just at a slightly lower wattage for some cost savings. We also offer the TUF Gaming 850W Gold if you’re looking for something more straightforward.
Finally, while buyers of the 4070 SUPER don’t require as much power, you’ll still want something that offers native 16-pin 12VHPWR support, so we recommend the ROG Strix 750W Gold Aura Edition, which offers excellent power delivery in a stylish package. You could also go with our TUF Gaming 750W Gold, or — depending on the aesthetics of your build — the ASUS Prime 750W Gold, which would look excellent with the ASUS Dual cards mentioned above.
For more power supply options and a calculator that will help you find the correct wattage for your system, check out our Power Supply portal. You can also read more about our recommendations for choosing a power supply here.
Get the most from your SUPER graphics with GPU Tweak III
If you really want to unleash the best that your new graphics card has to offer, we’re also releasing a new version of our GPU Tweak III software with new features and updated tuning for the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series of GPUs. Our ASUS preset modes allow you to boost your card’s power or cut back on noise with a single click, and you can even set your own profiles on a game-by-game basis.
Our Mobile Monitor is one of the most exciting new features, though, allowing you to connect to GPU Tweak via your phone or other remote device to monitor your GPU without adding overlays on top of your gameplay. Set your phone or tablet up on a stand next to your PC, connect to the GPU Tweak mobile monitor interface, and keep an eye on system stats without sacrificing immersion on-screen.
Finally, we’ve also made our VF Tuner more user-friendly than ever, providing fine-grained control over the clock speed curve of your GPU. We’ve also improved the on-screen display, the import and export function, and built-in a GPU-Z interface so you can get detailed GPU information without having to install GPU-Z separately. The latest GPU Tweak III improvements will be out soon, and you can download the current version of the program here.
