Overview: Strix DSP Gaming Headset
What is Strix DSP?
Strix DSP is a multi-platform digital signal processing (DSP) sound system that is plug and play, paired with a headset which is portable and comfortable with incredible punch. The detachable microphone and environmental noise cancellation tech ensures commands are crystal-clear for teammates. Its goal is to immerse gamers with supreme clarity, provide intuitive controls and an unprecedented edge in games.
Ultimate Comfort and Fit
These double-swivels on each side provide even clamping force across the whole surface of the ear-cups, meaning less pressure on the head and longer gaming marathons without discomfort. Even the material of the cushion in the ear-cups was carefully selected with ideal weight, softness and thickness in mind.

Travel Light
Circumaural (headphones which covers ears completely) headphones have been the preferable choice for blocking out external noise, has larger drivers and superior comfort because they don't press on the ears, at the same time they are also notorious for being overly heavy. Now ASUS has the remedy, Strix DSP is 320g light, supremely comfortable, foldable for portability, has superb noise-isolation and huge drivers!

Thunderous 60mm Neodynium-Magnet Drivers
Get incredible bass, great frequency response and minimal distortion from the massive 60mm Neodynium-Magnet drivers. There is a reason why tweeters, mid-range speakers and woofers come in different sizes, we believe this is driver will deliver a heavy punch and perform exceptionally throughout the human hearing range.
Zero-Crosstalk 5-Pole Connecter
ASUS takes pride in integrating innovating technologies - even on the small scale. Headphone cables are analog, where unlike digital signals these cables are susceptible to interference and cross-talk even over such short distances. A new 5-pole connector ensures less interference and cross-talk, producing supreme clarity.
DSP Audio Station
The Strix DSP audio station provides complete control, while designed in such a way the user can intuitively react quickly without needing to look away from the action. The mute function is prime example of this: a simple press on the top volume button will mute either the headphones or the microphone, depending on what mode it is in, and the LED indicators turn red showing you visually the state it is in. It requires no more than just peripheral vision to see, as to not disrupt focus.
The audio station is USB powered so no external power supply is required, making it simple and tidy to use and quick to pack away for traveling. External speakers can also be connected and easily selected with a press of a button. There is an inbuilt headphone amp for additional punch to the overall sound.
Multi-Platform
The headset and audio station can be used on multiple platforms, whether you are using a PC or a Mac. If on the PlayStation 4, phone or a tablet, you can still connect your headset via one of the two adapters supplied. In all cases the Strix DSP is plug and play so drivers are not needed.
Spectrum Profiles
One of the key features of the Strix DSP is the spectrum profiles, to give the user an advantage in games. There are four profiles for different genres of games and music, each enhancing specific sounds in games. FPS - Gunfire Enhancer; enhances lower frequencies, those specific to gunfire and explosions. FPS - Footstep Enhancer; hones in on the enemy's footsteps to aid the user in locating enemies. Action/RPG; to produce spectacular effects and enhance speech clarity. Racing; allows the user to hear engines rumble and roar in such realism, and to be able to change gears with increased precision.

Whether processing 7.1 channel surround or 2 channel stereo sound, all the processing in done in the audio station, so the sound is more vibrant, realistic and precise. There is a switch on the bottom to select 8 channel (7.1) or 2 channel, and a switch to turn on or off Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC).

Over 90% Environmental Noise Cancellation
When communicating with teammates in games can sometimes be frustrating, especially in the heat of battle when everyone is shouting and you can hear key bashing in the background. That is why ASUS has included noise environmental cancelling for the microphone.
The microphone has been tested to be effective in countering over 90% of the ambient noise.

It is optimal to place the audio station near the noise source and more than 70cm away from the Strix headset.

FleXion Technology
ASUS has delved into every detail of this gaming headset. Unable to settle with a microphone that is only flexible and can't retain customizable curves, or a stylish microphone that is not flexible, FleXion technology was created to provide style, flexibility and the ability to retain customized curves and angles.
More Detail, Less Distortion
Strix DSP has shown to respond very well across a broad range of frequencies, bringing you detail thus clarity, and has the ability to manipulate frequencies to accommodate different genres. Total harmonic distortion (THD) is another key component to look at first, as it is easy to guess, lower the distortion the better, if the cleanest and liveliest sound is desired: the Strix DSP is a top performer in its class.
