ASUS Announces EA-AC87 - AC1800 4x4 MIMO GigE to Wireless Bridge
Announced at CES 2015 earlier in Jan, the EA-AC87 is now be available to buy, allowing you to bridge a wired GigE connection to WiFi at AC1800 wireless speeds from its four antenna (4x4 MIMO). It's perfect for small form factor systems that can't squeeze in a WiFi PCIE card, and it's the next step up in performance and range over USB options, and the CAT5 cable can be extended further to allow placement almost anywhere.
It's dual-mode includes:
- Media Bridge (wireless client) mode it adds Wi-Fi to any wired network device
- Access Point mode upgrades any existing router or network to 5GHz speeds.
It's ASUS exclusive AiRadar has universal beamforming that measures and focuses the direction of the signal to maximize performance and coverage reliability, reaching up to 465m2 (around 5,000ft2).
