Supercharged performance
The critically-acclaimed ROG Zephyrus G14 packs plenty of gaming power into a stylish, ultraportable form factor. Rocking Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 9 6000 Series processors, and AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series mobile graphics, this all-AMD powerhouse redefines what kind of performance is possible in a 14” laptop. The RX 6800S GPU can draw up to 105W as it fluidly renders gaming worlds, courtesy of AMD’s SmartShift dynamic boosting algorithm that keeps the power where you need it at all times. Brand new for 2022, high-speed DDR5-4800 RAM offers 50% data rates compared to the previous generation, and a 1TB PCIe SSD enables lightning-quick game load times and responsiveness across the system.
The Zephyrus G14 gets a further boost to graphics performance with the introduction of a MUX Switch. A multiplexor, or “mux,” is a hardware component that can select from multiple different input signals and route it to a single output. Most modern laptops route the GPU’s frames through the CPU’s integrated graphics for better battery life. But with a MUX Switch, you can enable a direct GPU mode that reduces latency and boosts performance by an average of 9%. In competitive games where a few frames can be the difference between winning and losing, the Zephyrus G14 leaves no performance on the table. Changing between modes is also a breeze, with a simple toggle available within our Armoury Crate software.
Chill out with improved cooling
Most laptops use a series of heat pipes to transfer heat from the CPU and GPU to exhaust fans. For the G14, we needed something even more effective, so we crafted a custom vapor chamber that spans 48.2% of the mainboard. This not only covers the CPU and GPU, but other critical chips like the voltage regulation modules (VRM). That makes for about 50% more contact with system components compared to standard heatpipe designs, increasing thermal transfer for all crucial components. The G14 also comes equipped with Arc Flow Fans™ with a variable fan thickness design. By gradually tapering the thickness down to 0.1mm at the fan tip, we ensured high airflow while minimizing turbulence and excess noise.
The Zephyrus G14 received another unique upgrade for 2022: custom filters for the air intakes to prevent dust and fibers from being sucked into the chassis. This extra line of protection between the internal components and clogging debris helps ensure that you get the full performance of the machine over its lifetime. In tests that exposed laptops to dusty environments, models with the filters enjoyed 15% higher CPU performance and 4% higher GPU performance over time than models without the filters.
To give the machine more thermal headroom, we’ve applied Thermal Grizzly liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU. This allows the G14 to remain cool under all conditions, drastically improving its GPU power to 105W with AMD Smart Shift, without sacrificing any of the portability of its 14” form factor. When the G14 is in the Silent operating mode during low power tasks, 0db Ambient Cooling technology allows the fans to turn completely off for a truly silent experience. When you’re doing some light web browsing or catching up on a movie, you can enjoy the content without any fan noise in the background. If CPU or GPU temperatures increase, the fans will automatically switch on again.
Nebula displays offer heavenly visuals
The G14 is also one of the first ROG laptops to feature our brand-new Nebula Display™, which is the result of our endeavor to create the ultimate laptop gaming displays. Fast, bright, and vivid, the G14’s Nebula Display™ offers a QHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with a 3ms response time and Adaptive-Sync for sharp, smooth 1440p gaming. Nebula also supports Dolby Vision HDR with 500 nits of peak brightness, 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and Pantone Validation for a stunning, color-accurate experience. We’ve even expanded the G14’s display to a 16:10 aspect ratio, which increases screen real estate for both gaming and productivity.
This was more difficult than it sounds, since we didn’t want to sacrifice portability—it’s too inherent in the G14’s DNA. Instead of adding bulk to the chassis or including a large bezel across the bottom of the screen, our engineers completely overhauled the G14’s internal layout, incorporating our ErgoLift hinge to keep the laptop ultraportable while increasing the screen size. Flex your flair with the new and improved AniMe Matrix™
The Zephyrus G14 reimagined customization with its iconic AniMe Matrix™ display. Introduced in 2020, this feature was a network of LEDs embedded in a slash across the lid which could display custom animations and messages. For 2022, we’ve covered the lid with 14,969 precision CNC milled holes 1,449 Mini LEDs. With more LEDs than last year’s model, the machine is capable of all-new animations to customize the look of your machine. As for the chassis itself, the Zephyrus G14 is available in either Eclipse Grey or Moonlight White, with both models featuring a Prismatic Logo nameplate with a holographic, reflective hue.
This year’s G14 also brings a collection of mini-games to the desktop, encouraging you to really dig in and explore the full possibilities of the machine. Complete with a robust progression tracker and tons of achievements, OMNI makes a return as a virtual companion, and can be enhanced with rare animations and actions over time. OMNI’s brash attitude makes him the perfect foil for a virtual pet, with plenty of unique lines and animations to be discovered. The mini-games also have some hidden AniMe Matrix™ patterns to unlock, encouraging users to spend more time customizing their devices. Robust Connectivity
As a 14 inch laptop, the Zephyrus G14 was always intended to stay in motion. When you need to take your mission on the move, a pair of USB 3.2 Type-A ports and dual USB Type-C ports, one with power delivery and DisplayPort™ 1.4 support, provide ample connectivity options. The brand-new addition of a UHS-II microSD card reader is perfect for creators who need to transfer data while on the go. Wi-Fi 6E support allows for solid connections on compatible networks, even when the area is crowded with other devices. And a 76Wh battery keeps you productive even when you’re working or playing far from a wall socket or battery pack.
